Midterms are officially over, and if your schedule is anything like mine, you’ll know we’re both in desperate need of a self-care night. It is so important to prioritize your well-being so you can be at your best for yourself and those around you. I have put together a list of a few recommendations and things I like to do when I am in need of a refresh, and hopefully, they help you out as well.
Clean up your space
After a long week, most of my room is out of order. Now, cleaning up your space doesn’t have to mean a deep clean, typically, I put everything back in their place and get my room prepared for a cozy night in.
Get your body moving
Don’t worry, I am not saying hit the gym and do a full-hour workout. What I like to do is play a 10-minute yoga video in my room to help reset my body and my mind. A good ol’ fashioned hot girl walk will do the trick as well.
Wash off any negativity
This is one of the biggest recommendations I have. When you hop in the shower to rinse off the day, visualize the water washing off any negative thoughts, reactions, and feelings you’re holding on to. After you leave the shower, leave those feelings to run down the drain.
In-depth skincare routine
On self-care nights, there is extra time to add steps to your skincare routine. Take advantage of this! Personally, I like to add extra hydration to my skin with my Kiehls night routine. It never fails to leave my skin feeling so soft and plump.
Sip on your favorite cup of tea
Now, go ahead and grab your warm drink of choice. I prefer a cup of tea!
Enjoy a little sweet treat
This one is self-explanatory… what’s a self-care night without a sweet treat? My favorite is warm brownies with milk.
Cuddle up in bed
At this point, your body and mind should be feeling a bit more quiet. So, go ahead and get all cuddled up in your cozy bed for the night.
Hide your phone
You heard me right, press do not disturb and put your phone out of your sight. For me, just looking at my phone brings me stress, so I’m big on the whole out-of-sight, out-of-mind thing.
Binge your comfort show
We all have one! If you don’t, I recommend Gossip Girl. It never gets old.
Go to bed early
Getting to bed at a decent time is one of the best things you can do on a self-care night. Now, go get your beauty sleep, girl!
Stay tuned for more content coming your way soon, and in the meantime... have a happy weekend! XO
